Assembly

The College Watch is assembled by hand through a controlled sequence of inspection, fitting, casing, and verification.

Tolerances, alignment, cleanliness, and mechanical function are carefully checked before the watch moves forward.

Assembly

Pre-Assembly Inspection

Each component is inspected before it enters the build.

  • Case finishing, coating, and geometry are checked.
  • Dial, hands, movement, strap, and hardware are reviewed.
  • Any component outside specification is removed from production.

Movement Preparation

The NH-35 automatic movement is prepared before casing.

  • Stem length and crown fit are set precisely.
  • Winding and setting functions are tested.
  • The movement is checked for clean operation before installation.

Dial Assembly

The dial is assembled as a layered component.

  • Engraved brass, cherry wood, and indices are aligned.
  • Wood tone, grain, and fit are reviewed.
  • The finished dial is inspected for clarity, balance, and consistency.

Hand Fitting

The hands are installed under magnification.

  • Each hand is pressed to its post with controlled force.
  • Clearance is checked across all positions.
  • Alignment is verified before the watch is closed.

Casing and Closure

The movement, dial, and hands are seated into the case as a single assembly.

  • The caseback is secured evenly.
  • Crown action is checked.
  • The closed case is inspected for fit, finish, and function.

Strap and Final Running Check

The strap is fitted only after the watch passes assembly inspection.

  • Spring bars are confirmed secure.
  • The watch is wound, set, and measured for accuracy.
  • Timekeeping, hand clearance, and overall finish are reviewed before packaging.

Built on Care and Control

Every step is measured, deliberate, and repeatable.

Handcrafted by Experts

Precision parts still require skilled judgment.

Made to Represent

A recognition watch should meet the standard of the institution it carries.
